• Re: Coming back to books?

I have been reading on my Kindle almost exclusively for over a year now, partly because we are in Portugal every 6 weeks or so.  However I was reading the 2 Jill McGivering novels in paperback which my friend had lent me and I have really bad aches and pains in my hands, so it isn't just the portability I like but the lightness - ...

  • Re: Dry hands - any tips?!
I've been trying to think of something I have changed that may have impacted my hands/skin but nothing has sprung to mind.
But it doesn't have to have been you that bought something new, it could  be a "new and improved" version of an old favourite. I agree that Atrixo is a really ...

  • Re: Duplicate postings - does anyone know why?

It happens to me sometimes if I am on my iPad because the message window 'jumps' while I am typing.  I have to scroll up and tap post all in one nano-second.  It means that I have sometimes 'double posted'. NB the 'catch-it-while-its-not-looking' method of tapping the post button reminds me of my lovely Dad ...

  • Re: Moving

The only advice I had when moving was to make up your bed and hang your curtains in your bedroom, then when you have reached the end of your tether you can just flop into bed without having to unearth everything.  I found that knowing that our bed was ready for me meant I could do a few more things.   I don't envy you the downsizing ...

  • Re: How do you get rid of a grease stain on a car seat please?

The only thing I would add is always start with the mildest remedy and move up the scale till you find the level needed for that particular stain, I always begin with a solution of washing up liquid and tepid water.  I have a very soft ex-nail brush to massage the foam in and then dab, dab dab.  Old towels are good for this as they are ...

  • Re: Cookies help please

I had the "cookie message" this evening for the first time.  I have logged onto the site with IE( not sure which version), Google, Google Chrome and Safari on my ipad without ever seeing this message before.  Is it the impending snow do you think?

  • Re: I've got blocked tear ducts

I meant to put that I was producing a enough tears, but my eyes were drying out because we also need a very fine film of oil to cover the moist eye to help prevent them drying out.  So it's not making your eyes that is the problem, but keeping them so.

  • Re: I've got blocked tear ducts

My husband and daughter have this and the hot flannel thing does work, but don't stop when things seem to have cleared up, keep on doing it.  I have lenses and also go to specsavers.  My optician told me that taking a linseed oil capsule a day will help with tear production, and a side effect is that it helps with my creaky joints ...
