• Re: Is Crime The New Literary Fiction?

I must admit it's not my favourite genre-although I do read one occasionally. It certainly seems to have a wide following-they can't all be wrong!

  • Re: Rome: The Emperor's Spy, by M.C. Scott

This series is now at no3, which I am fortunate enough to have been sent by Lindsay. It's a very well crafted novel-but deals almost exclusivley with various military campaigns. Whilst I appreciate the historical content, I find it rather difficult/confusing to follow. Think I will overall prefer the "Boudica" series, which I am ...

  • Re: Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran

A good read, peopled by some great characters-obviously the protagonist and her brothers are at the forefront of this. Loved too, the glimpses into the life at this time-frightening, challenging-but exciting nontheless. I only have "Nefertiti"  on the tbr, so will read that in due course. A talented author with graphic insights ...
This has been on my tbr for a while, so I must ge round to reading it soon. I've also got "Imperium", about: "a city of glory built on  a river of filth" This also sounds ...
Nooooo-that would have (note, "would have, not would of"!), driven me crazy too. Appalling to see authours make such basic mistakes. Must admit that a vampire book probabably ...

  • Re: Elijah's Mermaid by Essie Fox

"The Crimson Petal and the White" immediately sprung to mind-it sounds incredibly similair in some respects-so intriguing as it sounds, may  give it a miss!

Ooh, I've been looking forward to this for a while now and even more so since reading your review
Likewise. SInce I enjoyed Winter in Madrid far more than I'd expected to, I've been really looking forward to this one coming out, as it sounds as if it ...

  • Re: LGBT book category

I had "i njun" censored out earlier today.......had no idea that this was potentially offensive.
Because here that is thought to be offensive and the term Native American used instead!  We are also not allowed to refer to people as Oriental and use the ...
