I'd say it's a fair assumption that a book swapping site would be mainly occupied by women.  being brand new to a forum full of mainly adult women, if I had seen that post, my first thought wouldn't of been "sarcastic" and if for some reason it was, I would've given the benefit of the doubt to start off with lol. I'm happy being me x

 I don't know if it's the same on an actual kindle, but on my laptop kindle, it has a blue bookmark ribbon? With this I select it and it bookmarks that page, if then like you I skip forward to see how much is left of a chapter, it does leave it on the page when re-opened, but below on the blue bar accross the bottom it shows the page ...
