  • Jules' All Time Favourite Reads

Jane Eyre , just briliant. Probably one of my most read books. Classic Bronte romance won't spoil The Gargoyle - really interesting with two intertwining stories , love, sex ,celibacy and suspense. What more could you ask of a book. Gory in places - especially the first bit. Harry Potter - especially the first 3. It was these books that got ...

Currently 99p on Kindle Translated into 28 languages, Finnish bestseller Purge has become an international sensation. A breathtaking novel of two women, each from different generations of one family, each troubled by a shameful past, and the dark, unspoken history that binds them. Deep in an Estonian forest, two women, one young, one ...

  • Re: The Gargoyle - Andrew Davidson

I really enjoyed this book and found it hard to put down. It followed my reading of the truly AWFUL"  The Slap " which had loads of sex and swearing but managed to be shallow and dull. This is actually about a necessarily  platonic love but no less deep or passionate for that. I loved it. Stretched my brain and made me think ...

  • Re: The Snowman by Jo Nesbo

I actually liked it for what it was but being compared to Steig Larsson I was expecting a different kind of book! It was a bit more like Karin Slaughter in style. Still, quite a gripping book despite the 2D characters. I now feel nervous of snowmen and liked this plot device as a means of bringing tension but dont want to add spoilers. . I ...
