I don't think any offence was meant above, regulars on here know that books can be snapped up in minutes if they're popular. And if they are on someone's wishlist they get an email to say they've been added to the site so that sometimes means books go quickly.

However, if it was my swap, I looked at your list because you posted as a newbie and you had something I was interested in . I try to encourage newbies where I can, as do many of the forum regulars.

     Congrats on your first swap!

To be fair to the OP, those words could quite easily be construed as sarcastic.

being brand new to a forum full of mainly adult women, if I had seen that post, my first thought wouldn't of been "sarcastic" and if for some reason it was, I would've given the benefit of the doubt to start off with lol. I'm happy being me x

Well  I'm really pleased that you're so happy being yourself.

I'm a relative newbie myself and I wasn't aware of the demographic of this forum - didn't know that this forum was made up primarily of adult women.  But then again, I'm not sure what bearing that has on the delivery (or otherwise) of sarcastic posts?  I was just pointing out when I saw this:

Wow you took that the wrong way didn't you?
That actually the comment in question did sound a bit sarcy, and Vampisha wasn't alone in thinking it might be.  However JandJ has said no sarcasm was intended, so heartfelt and sincere group hug ------------>  Left HugRight Hug     everyone.

    Re: Can't believe it.

I'd say it's a fair assumption that a book swapping site would be mainly occupied by women. And women in general don't attack people on forums and tend to be welcoming to newbies (I clearly spend far too much time online). Going by my own personal experience and by my own actions, women tend to be friendly creature's, especially on first encounters, unless of course they are threatened or protective or in some cases some women are just really mean :S

As I said above, I wouldn't of jumped to the first conclusion that my first reply on any forum, especially not this one, would be someone being sarcastic or rude. The reason I piped up, was the direct response Vamp gave which, if your honest, was hostile and provocative

Everyone should be happy with themselve's, saves a fortune on therapy x

    - as a side note, the reason I said i'm happy being me, is that I prefer to see the best in people and I certainly prefer being someone like that that someone who is easily offended and feels attacked on a constant basis (and that is not meant as a direct quote to the original poster, as I know nothing about them and wouldn't know what they are like in the everyday realy world.)
