    Jenny's (Hades2) TBR list for 2010.

Well I've never done this before, never given myself a challenge to read a list of books.  To be honest it was really fun compiling the list.  Here is my TBR list for 2010Big Smile

Sail - James Patterson - This was good, I did enjoy it.

Sepulchre - Kate Mosse- Reading this one now, put this one aside for now

Turning Thirty - Mike Gayle - This was funny, plenty of laugh out loud moments

    The Return - Victoria Hislop

The Piano Teacher - Janice Y.K Lee

Don't Look Twice - Andrew Gross

Flesh & Bone - Jefferson Bass

One False Move - Alex Kava

Bloodstream - Tess Gerritsen - This was ok, nothing special.  Not one of her better books.

Secret Smile - Nicci French - This was really good, very dark and sinister.

    Himalaya - Michael Palin

    Rough Ride - John Francome

Purple Cane Road - James Lee Burke

Love My Enemy - Kate MacLachlan -Excellent book.  Such an eye opener to the troubles in Northern Ireland.

In The Company Of Cheeful Ladies - Alexander McCall Smith

The Distant Echo - Val McDermid

The Last Days of the Lacuna Cabal - Sean Dixon -   Gave up on this one after 70 pages, too wordy and slow.

    Messiah - Boris Starling

Life of Pi - Yann Martel

Gone For Good - Harlan Coben

Poison Study - Maria V Snyder

My Family and Other Animals - Gerald Durrell

The Suspicions of Mr Whitcher - Kate Summerscale

The Conjuror's Bird - Martin Davies

The Adulterers Club - Tess Stimson

At Risk - Patricia Cornwell - This one was very boring and bland

    Dark Desire - Christine Feehan

The Book Thief - Markus Zusak - This was a story I was so desperate to see how it ended.  I really enjoyed this book.

The Girl Who Played With Fire - Stieg Larsson- Really good.

The Memory Keepers Daughter - Kim Edwards

    Shadowmagic  - John Lenahan

From Dead to Worse - Charlaine Harris - This was excellent.  I shall be very sorry when I complete the series.

Dead and Gone - Charlaine Harris - Briliant!

The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening - L J Smith - Really loved this, excellent stuff!

The Vampire Diaries: The Struggle- L J Smith - Fantastic, really enjoyed this book.

The Vampire Diaries: The Fury - L J Smith - Enjoyed this one.

The Vampire Diaries: Dark Reunion - L J Smith - The weakest out of all of these books.

Night World Vol 1 - L J Smith - This was really good, I loved the three stories.

    Bitten - Kelly Armstrong

Don't Drop the Coffin! - Barry Albin-Dyer - A thoughtful insight into the world of a funeral director.  Hilarious in places.

The Lost Daughter - Diane Chamberlaine

Adrian Mole and the Weapons of Mass Destruction - Sue Townsend

The Day of the Triffids - John Wyndham

Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fford - Put to one side for now.

    Monster - Allan Hall

The Kingdom Beyond the Waves - Stephen Hunt

Tempted -  PC Cast and Kristin Cast -   This was excellent. Really do enjoy the House of Night series.

Undead and Unwed - Maryjanice Davidson - This was brilliant!

Shades of Grey - Jasper Fforde - Creative, an excellent read.

A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini - This was excellent.  Such an eye opener.

Alfred & Emily - Doris Lessing - Interesting take on how the Great War affected lives.

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment - James Patterson - Loved this book, can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Grave Sight - Charlaine Harris - Enjoyable.  But not as good as the Sookie Series.

Grave Surprise - Charlaine Harris -  I liked this

Undead and Unemployed -  Maryjanice Davidson -  Very enjoyable.

Undead and Unappreciated - Maryjanice Davidson - Superb book.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan -  Really enjoyable.

Girl Interrupted - Susanna Kaysen - Didn't really enjoy this, was a little on the flat side.

An Ice Cold Grave - Charlaine Harris - Best in the series so far.

Fish Out of Water - Maryjanice Davidson - Chick lit with a hint of humour and sea salt.  Very good.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard - J.K. Rowling - Not really keen on this one.

Undead and Unreturnable - Maryjanice Davidson - I did enjoy this one.

The Source - Michael Cordy - Very imaginative, did enjoy it but not a 5* book.

The Other Hand - Chris Cleave - This was good.

Shutter Island - Dennis Lehane - Found the first half slow.  The second half was brilliant and explosive.

Undead and Unpopular -  Maryjanice Davidson - This series is really good.

Knock Down - D.ick Francis - Mystery, crime and the colourful world of horseracing rolled into a great plot.

Undead and Uneasy - Maryjanice Davidson - This was really funny. I did enjoy it but I felt the ending was a bit rushed.

A Touch of Dead - Charlaine Harris - I  really enjoyed this collection of short stories.

Dark Side of the Moon - Sherrilyn Kenyon - I was really looking forward to reading this, but it was rubbish!

Vampireville - Ellen Schreiber - What a load of drivel, gave up on this after 60 pages.

One False Move- Harlan Coben - Great ending, loved this book.

Three Bedrooms, One Corpse - Charlaine Harris - Not quite up to the same standard as the Southern Vampire series but netherless very enjoyable.

The Elegance of the Hedgehog - Muriel Barbery - Gave up halfway through, not for me.

The Rapture - Liz Jensen - This was awesome!

206 Bones - Kathy Reichs - Really loved this one.  Not the best in the series, but very close.

Fallen Hearts - Virginia Andrews - Don't honestly think I'll be reading any more from this author, a tad dull.

On The Edge of Darkness - Barbara Erskine - Very dark and sinister, I enjoyed it.

The Lace Reader - Bruonia Barry - Got a third of the way through and gave up.

Divine by Mistake - P C Cast - Really enjoyed this one.

The Piano Teacher - Janice Y.K Lee    TBR

Dark Desire - Christine Feehan    I read (well, half-read!) Dark Prince by her a couple of months ago and hated it...it's put me off wanting to read any more of her books (and I have some on my TBR!)

The Book Thief - Markus Zusak    Wonderful, I loved it

The Girl Who Played With Fire - Stieg Larsson    TBR

From Dead to Worse - Charlaine Harris    Love all the Sookie books (Dead to the World is my favourite)

Dead and Gone - Charlaine Harris    Ditto

The Vampire Diaries (Awakening & The Struggle) - L J Smith    Want to read

    Nightworld Vol 1 - L J Smith    Didn't like this

Bitten - Kelly Armstrong    Really, really good - stands out in a sea of vampire/werewolf books

The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fford    Brilliant, really imaginative and like nothing I'd read before

Ooooh there's some interesting comments you put there, def a mixed bag.  I must admit I did try Turbulent Sea by Christine Feehan and thought it was bad, but I stupidly got 4 books of hers before I read any,  that will teach me!!  Most of these books on my list have been recommended to me.  I agree with all the Sookie books being really good, I shall be so sorry to finish the series [:'(]

You never know, you might like it....a lot of people on here do, but I thought it was a little flat and a lot over-hyped!

I, too, was gutted when I came to the end of The Southern Vampire series, but fear not! The next one is out in May (I think!) :q25:

Yeah, the 10th book is out in May 2010 and, according to Wikipedia, it will be called Dead in the Family (although that has not been confirmed by Charlaine Harris' website).

Just finished reading Secret Smile by Nicci French.  Very good book!!!  Very sinister and dark in places.  I felt really sorry for the main character Miranda.
