**SPOILER in first post**How long since a book made you cry?

I've just finished My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult and I couldn't stop crying at the end.

Spoiler below, please highlight to read:

The last time I cried over a book was when the house elf Dobby died in the last Harry Potter book!

I often cry at films, but much less often at books.  But I think the last one that "got" me was The Confessions of Max Tivoli by Andrew Sean Greer - a very similar story to Benjamin Button (and I cried at that, too!)

Last night - War Horse by Michael Murporgo.  Had seen it on stage and knew what to expect, but it still had me in bits! Sad

Last month I read two books that had me in tears- "Marley and me" and "Shadows of the workhouse" both non fiction books. The last fiction book was "Chasing windmills".

    I cry at anything though![:'(]

Re: How long since a book made you cry?

Just a few weeks ago, The Road by Cormac McCarthy had me in floods of tears.  I had to stop reading it on the train as I could feel I was about to be "set off" so had to finish it in the privacy of my own home.

A few weeks before that, Giraffe by J M Ledgard made me cry too.

The Book Thief by Markus Zuzack.  the only book that has ever made me shed a tear.  My Husband also cried at the same book and he is made of stone! Xx

I read The Kite Runner last month and that made me cry throughout.  Another book that I practically cried throughout was Lovely Bones which I read early last year.
