One week later and quite a few new books! Not all from RiSi but it's made me get more from elsewhere too.

Read: The Secret Life of a Slummy Mummy by Fiona Neill - an enjoyable chick lit with a few laughs.

Reading: The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris - so far so good.

9 new books (I'm trying not to swap this week!).

    Read:

Harvest and Life Support by Tess Gerritsen - good medical thrillers, easy reading.

    Reading:

An Offer You Can't Refuse by Jill Mansell - I'm not liking this so much, the characters are annoying and the main one is very immature (she's meant to be the same as as me but is acting like a teenager). I will persevere but her books aren't as enoyable as they used to be.

Eek 31 new books since last time, mostly due to a few bargain bundles found on eBay! I have to try and restrict myself to swaps only for the rest of the month otherwise I'll have nowhere to sleep soon.

Reading: Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman

    Read:

Mary Reilly by Valerie Martin - quite a slow read but Iquite liked it, something a bit different.

Fractured by Karin Slaughter- slower paced than her usual style, still enjoyed but not my fave. Can't wait for Sara Linton and Will Trent to join forces in the next one!

    Need to read faster obviously!

The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman On TBR

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer With all the hype around the book and so many people loving it, I thought I might have been disappointed but I certainly wasn't!! I read it as quick as I could often sneaking in pages here and there. I cannot wait to see the film and read the next 1s in the series.

New Moon & Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer On TBR

The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen This is my second Gerritsen book and I still love this author. This book had me gripped and guessing all the way through, looking forward to reading the follow up, The Apprentice.

Re: patchworkbunny's TBR pile (updated 10/04/09)

For some reason your list comes up in a table so I can't comment on all the ones I've read, but you have some really good books here.

Clockwork Orange - I enjoyed this. Well - maybe enjoy is the wrong word, but it made me think (I found the film more disturbing). It took a while to get into, and needs to be read with time and care, but is well well worth it.

Moab is my Washpot - I love Stephen Fry, and have no doubt that he's had an interesting life (manic-depressive, in prison at 17!) but while I'd love to have him at a party, I don't know if he's that great a writer.

Sleepers - thought was a great book! And a good film. V sad.

    The Couplands:

Microserfs - read years ago and absolutely loved this.

Girlfriend in a Coma - hated. The first half is ok, but I think it goes completely off the boil, and disintegrates into utter piff until the end. But that's just me, and I know a lot of people love it!

I think I have a few others of his on my swaps so let me know if you want them!

    The Gambler - Dostoyevsky (audiobook!!)
TBR - please request them if you want them
    My Stupid Blog!

     The Constant Princess - enjoyed
    The Queen's Fool - enjoyed
Out - very gory but good read
    Congo - enjoyed
The Book Thief - really enjoyed
Atonement - thought this was quite boring and pointless
    Empress Orchid - enjoyed

    TBR
    The Cellist of Sarajevo
    The Boleyn Inheritance
    The Conjuror's Bird
    The 19th Wife
    Random Acts of Heroic Love
    The Last Empress
