Hiya,i'm not sure if i'm missing something as my computer randomly hates me and doesn't co-operate but is there any way of seeing if you have private messages other than actually checking your inbox? Another forum i use has a pop up alert that tells you there's a new message waiting....is there anything like this on here? I don't want to seem ignorant by not responding to messages when i don't notice i have them as i forget to check.

No, there's no pop-up indicator or anything on here, I'm afraid - I agree it would be useful!  However, you can adjust your settings so that you get an email every time you get a PM. In your profile you need to set your three email preferences to Yes, Yes, Yes.  In fact, I'll go and do that for you now and send you a test PM to see if you get the email.

Oh good, I'm glad that worked!  I should have added that, with your settings as they now are, you may well get notifications of new posts on threads you've posted on, unless you turn these off by making sure the little bar at the top of the thread says Email Subscription Disabled.  Otherwise you may find you get more emails than you want!
