How do you link to your swaps and wisthlist?

I know this has probably been asked a dozen times before. I thought I could figure it out, but it's eluding me somehow. What am I missing?

    Thanks

    Karen

Here are the instructions on how to do it:

To add your swap list, wish list and TBR to your signature follow this:

    1. Find the link to your swaps:  go to the main site, click on My Profile, then View your public swapping profile, and then you need to click on View All User's Books, which will provide you with the link to your books in the address bar at the top of the screen - it looks something like this - http://www.readitswapit.co.uk/UserBooks.aspx?UserID=457

    2. Copy the link from the address bar at the top of the screen, and then go back to the forum and click on your name at the top right hand corner which will take you to your profile.  Click on the tab About and under your signature paste the link.

    3. Either side of the link you need to put the following (without the spaces) - [ url = put link here ] My Swaps [ / url ] - This should then create a link in your signature.

    4. For wishlists and TBR's, you need to find the link to your wishlist/TBR thread, and do the same as above, again without the spaces.

Thank you so much Penny! I'm such a jerk. I just saw that this is a sticky. Your directions are great, but I  couldn't get it to work unless I put the line in quotation marks. All sorted now!Embarrassed

Glad you got it fixed!  Usually I would have done it for you, but I was pushed for time last night.

Btw, no idea why you needed to put quote marks in, as I never do - how odd!

I also thought it was odd and have removed the quotation marks and found the links still work.

I've tried it too! I think I have followed the advice fully. Thanks for raising this post as I have puzzled about how to create these links. Just before I try it, can anyone add advice about mounting the TBR link. Are these the books that are on my inactive list, or are they a separate list you generate? As you can see I am still learning about this fantastic site!

I've just checked Joan and both of your links work fine.

As for your TBR, this is a list of books that you own with the intention of reading - we have a section on the forum for folks to list them for others to see and comment upon.  You can create your own thread there and then link it to your signature if you wish.
