July's book is: If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregorOn a street in a ton in the North of England, perfectly ordinary people are doing totally normal things - children play cricket, window-frames are painted, a couple argues, students pack up their belongings, and nameless people pass each other like every other day, interweaving yet never connecting. But a terrible event shatters the quiet and no one who witnesses it will be the same again.

Thanks Wendy - meant to check this last night but my home computer has a virus and I can't get on the net at the moment except at work. Honestly don't know how I'll cope without the net!!

What a coincidence -didn't know this was being considered but have just got it from the library - haven't been to the last couple of book groups but hope to join you for this one. Read it a while back but can't remember anything about it so thought I would try it again

Read this a while ago and really enjoyed it, something very different - but I think it'll probably be a marmite book!!

I read it a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it, but could see how many wouldn't like it, it's very different, and quite hard to get into the style, but I thought it was definitely worth it! Nat
