The only one I have read is Tess Gerritsen - The Apprentice. I thought it was fantastic and have also read the second one of the series which I enjoyed equally as much.

Maya Angelou - A song flung up to heaven

Maya Angelou - All gods children need travelling shoes (read this quite a few years ago but remember enjoying this autobiographical series - never heard of the one above -is it autobiographical too?

Kathy Reichs - Death du Jour (haven't read this one but read and enjoyed a lot of her books)

Tess Gerritsen - The Apprentice (my first swap!!!!) - there used be a challenge thread for people to get round to reading their first swap as a lot of us tended to neglect our first swaps and just got addicted to swapping and gabbing on here - nothing has changed!  Let's see how long it takes you to read this one..Big Smile

Donna Tartt - The Little Friend (tried a few times but never got into - deserves one more try i think!) loved The Secret History and this one was okay, a bit of a disappointment for me after the brilliance of her first book :-(

Charles Frazier - Cold Mountain - took me a while to get into but it wasn't bad

R j Ellory - A quiet belief in Angels ( like the sound of this one - have you read anything else by him?  Just asking cos I haven't!)

The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova ( not a bad concept but much tooooooooo long)

    Lee Child - Die trying

    Zadie Smith - On Beauty

Cloud Atlas - (can't get into this either - one more try before i stick it on the swap list!) A bit of a marmite book, love it or hate it...I personally really liked it but if it didn't grip me I would have put it onto swap list

You have an interesting mix of books there - I like it!! Big Smile

Tess Gerritsen's one of my favourites - that whole series, including The Apprentice is great.  I gave up on Donna Tartt, and life's too short for Cloud Atlas!  Reading the RJ Ellory at the moment: it was a slow starter and I wasn't at all sure I was going to like it, but I'm now totally hooked.  The Historian's one of my all-time favourites - a bit like Shadow of the Wind in style, if you ever tried that, not an easy read but worth the effort...

Reading: The Secret Between Us - Barbara Delinsky

I loved The Historian, completely different to anything I've read and although it's quite a long book, had me completely gripped!

Hi jlo! That's a respectable enough TBR! I've read a few of yours.

The Apprentice - an excellent read, great thriller

The Little Friend - tried to get into it so many times but couldn't finish it, not as good as Secret History

Cold Mountain - a wonderful read, so beautifully phrased and very moving

Quiet Belief in Angels - on my TBR too!

Donna Tartt - The Little Friend (tried a few times but never got into - deserves one more try i think!) - I loved Secret History but could not get into this at all. Not like me I must say!

R j Ellory - A quiet belief in Angels - I fancy this but not heard a lot about it.

The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova - I started this but the description was far too long winded for me. I'm sure it is a good read once you get passed that though. I did really like the idea of the story.

Marian Keyes - Angels (a swap!) /  Sushi for beginners - I really enjoyed Angels and have Sushi for Beginners on my TBR. I love Marian Keyes in general though.

Paul Britton - The Jigsaw Man - Working for the Police, I loved this. It is really interesting to see how he can describe the type of person who would commit such horrific crimes. I've got his second novel on my TBR.
