Poll Information - Dates for Forum Book Discussions

Thought I'd post this in a seperate thread as it should be useful for people new to the discussions, and we can gather tips and list as we go...

Anyone can volunteer, so don't be shy!

Your poll should come out on the last Monday of the previous month - i.e. around a week before the previous month's discussion. This way everyone has a chance to get vote before getting hold of and then reading the book.

Here are this year's dates:

December's book (Count) - The Diving Bell and The Butterfly - to be discussed this Monday, 7th Jan

January's book (Mcapindale) - The Tenderness of Wolves to be discussed on the 4th Feb

February's book (deefer) - Out - to be discussed 3rd Mar (Rough date for poll: 28th Jan)

March's book (Charnterelle) - Under the Sking - to be discussed 7th Apr (Rough date for poll: 25th Feb)

April's book (windysisters) - Rebecca - to be discussed 5th May (Rough date for poll: 24th Mar)

May's book (brummiebird) - The Gathering -  to be discussed 2nd June (Rough date for poll: 28th Apr)

June's book (sharon165) - Misery to be discussed 7th July (Rough date for poll: 26th May)

July's book (count) - If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor to be discussed 4th Aug (Rough date for poll: 23rd June)

August's book (sarah5) - Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder to be discussed 1st Sept (Rough date for poll: 28th July)

September's book (rozzy1967) - The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly to be discussed 6th Oct (Rough date for poll: 25th Aug)

October's book (seanat) - Second Glance by Jodi Picoult to be discussed 3rd Nov (Rough date for poll: 29th Sept)

November's book (windysisters using The Best of the Rest) - Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka to be discussed 1st Dec (Rough date for poll: 27th Oct)

December's book (windysisters - a selection of Christmas reads) - ? to be discussed week commencing 15 December (rough date for poll: 15 Nov)

I then looked up the ones I liked the sound of on Amazon, and got the synopses from there as well. I also had a look at the reviews and tried to pick books that had fairly mixed ones, in the hope that we wouldn't all agree! Thought would make for a better discussion, but we'll see...!
