    Having to log in repeatedly

If I am on the forums and I want to go to my swaps, my books or the library, I always have to log in again. Does this happen for anyone else? Any idea why? It only happens that way around - for instance if I am already in my swaps and I want to go to the forums, I don't need to log in again. I am using Safari but it seems to do it with the other browsers as well.

It always does that, Deborah, if you're on the forums for more than about 20 minutes and then try to go back to the main site. It only works the one way, but it can be a bit of a pain.

Re: Having to log in repeatedly

There is a time-out, I believe, on the main part of the site (My Books, Swaps etc) - since far more people use that side than use the forums, this stops the server getting overloaded with people who've logged in, but then drift off and do something else without logging out.

Ah thank you. That makes sense. It's ok if it does it with everyone - I was worried it might be personal!

I've noticed that too, I always wondered why it was.

It happens to me too and I thought it was just to do with logging me out for inactivity after a certain period of time.

It is to do with inactivity - if you carried on actively searching your swaps etc for more than 20 minutes, it would keep you logged in, but for the reason I gave above logs you out if you're not active for 20 mins (or whatever the set time limit is, but I think it's 15 or 20 mins).

oh, yes, I just meant that I didn't question it as I thought that was why as it happens to me at work sometime when I'm using web based applications.

The same thing happens with Amazon - it will automatically log you out of your account after a little while.
