    Paradise Lost by John Milton.

"As a historian, I have learned that, in fact, not everyone who reaches back into history can survive it. And it is not only reaching back that endangers us; sometimes history itself reaches inexorably back for us with its shadowy claw."

A swap book arrived this morning Counting My Chickens by Deborah Devonshire.

I saw the Duchess of Devonshire on the Anne Robinson book series and thought she seemed a fascinating character so I'm looking forward to reading her book.
