Ive just read through the first of the trilogy here and i didnt really see the point? As in - there was no storyline to it. Honestly i dont mind a book with loads of sex related stuff but it needs some sort of story surely???also i felt very uneducated as didnt know what half of the "implements" were! lolll
Ive been told no 2 has a better storyline so ive moved onto it - out of curiousity but nothing to write home about so far - also cant they please call themselves by first names!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRGHHHH

Good on her, my Nan was tempted, but decided she'd stick to her Mills and Boon, cos she knows where she is with those, lol!

I saw a Mum sat reading it at the park last week, whilst her kids were off playing!

While on the way back from Ilkley, we called on my MIL's cousin aka Aunty Margaret. We told her where we'd been and how it was meeting up with friends who share a love of reading. She then went on to ask me if I'd read Fifty Shades of Grey, which I told her I had and enjoyed. She then flummoxed me by saying that she'd read it and she's 82. She's only read the first one but admitted to having skipped some of the rude stuff, she has now inclination to read the other two though. What a game old bird, my MIL would never read anything like that.

I'd then to explain to Alan on the way home what the book was about as he's heard about it but never really known what it was all about.

When we were in the Pub last night it also became the topic of conversation and my ex-neighbour had read it on Holiday but didn't want others to see what she was reading and bent the spine that much that the pages fell out after she'd read them, she did say that nearly every other lady at the resort that they were staying in was reading it.

Through looking at some of the music mentioned, I found this song Black Black Heart by David Usher, I'd never heard of him before but the song and some of his other music is rather good.

I did look up the sound track and some of it is ok. I was pleased to hear my favourite classical peace mentioned though, Thomas Tallis/Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a Theme. Wonderful music!

I've just finished reading this today and to be honest I really enjoyed it. I felt myself really drawn to it and was completely immersed in it, as I was with the Twilight saga. I found it a very easy read and I agree that it could have done with far better editing BUT on the whole I didn't find it that badly written and as Fi said 'I've read worse'.

The s.e.x bits if I'm honest I didn't find all that shocking and agree with Annie that they're no worse than reading a Black Lace book. Considering the books over 500 pages it's not completely littered with them either.

In my opinion there is a storyline there and it's enough of a story to make me read the second and third books to see how it all unfolds. In fact I can't wait to get my hands on the second and third books and if I enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed the first then they might just make it as Keepers. I completely understand why some people have been irritated with them but I don't always tend to over analyse books when I'm reading them.

Just curious about this. Did anyone look up any of the music that was mentioned in the book? I did and some of it is quite good and I'd never heard it before.

Just finished this and have to say I really enjoyed it. I didn't think the writing was bad ( I have read worse!), I loved her inner goddess and her antics ( I have read somewhere that when they make the movie to avoid it become a porn film during those ohh err moments they may pan to how her inner goddess is reacting!) Looking forward to the next one now!!!

I am currently on the 3rd book page 19. I really like the books, I found myself really drawn in but don't think the sexual references are that bad, not what its been typed up to be. I was expected it to be really crude. The only think that I didn't like is that EL James has over used the word "murmurs"
