Hi there

I've recently joined here and had a few successful swaps this week. However there is one book I keep requesting to swap and it keeps getting declined! It's not a particularly new book (I don't think), and there are 11 copies of it available. Is this just purely bad luck that I don't happen to have anything that those swappers want to read right now?

 Well with 62 books available to swap I think this is just temporary bad luck and I'm sure you'll get a swap for it soon.

In the meantime maybe you could start a thread in our "Please Help Me Find" section to see if anyone has a copy of it lurking on their shelves.

Welcome to RiSi!  It happens to everyone at some point I'm afraid, but if you have a big enough book list, there'll be something there that someone will want.

Posting in the "Please Help Me Find" section is a great idea.

 Your booklist looks good, I'm sure you'll get swaps soon. I went for a couple of months before Christmas where i was the one requesting and getting turned down then suddenly in the new year i had loads of swap requests, swings and roundabouts I guess. Try posting on the forums more, (Games maybe), and you'll find people check you out and the swaps begin.

 Hey i have been turning down a ton of requests but its not because i dont like the person and its not personal its because i dont want to read any of the persons books.

Sometimes it does really depend on what you have in your swap list and if the person you are requesting from wants to read one of your books.
