As Linda Gillard is a Forum member l took the opportunity to ask if she would be kind enough to take part in an Author Chat session.  She has kindly accepted to take part and said she loves chatting with readers.

Being a novice at all this can somebody please come to the rescue and help with the finer details.

Well done Bernie - it was on my to-do list to ask Linda, but I hadn't got around to it yet, so thanks for seizing the initiative.

Since Linda is already a forum member this is easy to set up.  First, agree on a suitable time and date with her.  It's best to pick a time when there are usually quite a few people active on the site, so evenings are better than daytimes, and perhaps a midweek evening rather than a weekend.  Then make sure we all know the details and have the date firmly in our diaries, and one of us will set up the thread for the discussion to start a day or so before the agreed time.  This will allow people who can't make it "live" to post some advance questions, and Linda can then get started on answering those and chatting live to everyone else as soon as the chat officially starts.

Does that cover everything?  If not, let us know.

Linda will be away for a few days soon so maybe in a fortnights time or so might be suitable for all interested parties.  lt will give peiople time to think of questions possibly and as you have suggested during the week is a far better idea.

l will speak with her via PM and see when she is available, she did say she could do it whenever we wnated but obviously she might have some plans.  A Tuesday or Wednesday night might be a good idea, l will see how she is fixed.

I've read the previous posts and just wanted to let you know that I'll be back home Sat 5th Sept and can do most dates in the evening except 15th and 30th Sept and 1st and 2nd Oct.

If you are happy could we aim for the 16th Sept then.  lt will give people time to read any books of yours they might have on their TBR piles and also time to think of any questions.  As Penny has said people might post questions prior to the Chat, if they can't make it on the night and this gives you time to answer any questions prior to the night.

Thursdays are no good for me by the way.
