    A NEWBIE !!!

    Hello

I am completely new to this site and have swapped my 'only' book for a book with another member. I sent my book last Monday, so well over 10 days ago now and have not received the swap, nor has the other member confirmed they have received my book. Is this usual or do I need to report this ???

    Thank you kindly

    Lesley J

    Re: A NEWBIE !!!

Hi and welcome to the site, Lesley.  I'm very sorry to hear that you've hit a snag with your very first swap.  Despite what you might believe if you read through the forums, such problems are thankfully very rare in terms of the total number of swaps done every day, and of the problems that do crop up, most are usually resolved in the end.  Hopefully that will be the case with yours.

The first thing you should do is email the other swapper - if you click on the More Details link by your swap, you'll see their details including their email address. Just put in a friendly email asking if everything's ok as you've not got your book yet etc etc.  Hopefully you'll get a helpful response, but if not then you should contact support as detailed under the "I'm having problems with this swap" link.  A gentle nudge from them can work wonders, but hopefully you'll get it sorted out long before that point!

Good luck, and here's hoping all your future swaps are snag-free!

l second all that lsmay said.

l was going to say may all your problems be book related but under the circumstances, l won't bother.

Have fun and you'll soon be addicted as the rest of us xx

Hi and welcome. Glad your swap got sorted.

As for having no books to swap, many of us browse charity shops, car boot sales, local fetes etc as a cheap supply of second hand books to read and/or swap. And I'd say boot sales often have the best bargains, with some charity shops being better (and cheaper!) than others.

    Enjoy

Hi there, I am glad you got your swap problem sorted and you can now focus on establishing an exciting swap list by trawling the charity shops as Sarah has suggested.  Welcome to RiSiland. Big Smile
