    A light-hearted read?

I've almost finished reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, and although I've really enjoyed it, I'd like to read something light-hearted next. Any recommendations, please?

Garden Spells - Sarah Adison Allen

Sophie's Bakery for the Broken Hearted - no author sorry

I am not a chick lit reader, and these have just a little more depth, but both are fun, summer reads.

I am reading this at the moment and enjoying it. I would also recommend Remember me? ~ Sophie Kinsella.

Jill Mansell, Carole Matthews, Chris Manby and Marian Keyes all write very lighthearted kind of books - nice to read it bit of chick lit now and then.  I like Marian Keyes' humour - she's very funny.

The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen is a lovely book.

Spa Wars by Chris Manby is an easy good read too.

If you'd prefer a light hearted detective story rather than a "romance" then Simon Brett's Fethering Mysteries series (first one Body on the Beach) or M C Beaton's Agatha Raisin series (first one AR and the Quiche of Death) are light and amusing despited being murder mysteries.

My fav book for June was 'Come Away With Me' by Sara MacDonald. It was a perfect, relaxing, beautifully written story that left me looking out for more books by this under-rated but talented author.

The Last Week of May by Roisin Meaney

I picked this up in the library sale for 20p and it was a surprise gem. Very light read and enjoyable, ideal after a heavier tome.

Thanks, everyone. :) Just out of interest - is 'The Island' by Victoria Hislop quite light-hearted too?
