As you can probably tell, I like my 20th century classics. The films adaptations of these books are also brilliant!

 Also added - the Red Dwarf books: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers, Last Human, Backwards and Better Than Life. For anyone who is a fan of the series (and who isnt?) these books are a treasure trove, they are wholly written by the main writers of the show (Grant & Naylor) and are guaranteed laugh out loud. I DARE anyone to read one of these books on the bus! Funny looks aplenty!

And I have Their Eyes Were Watching God on my tbr shelf along with some other VMC..

I loved the film of Fried Green Tomatoes but I've never read it I'm afraid.

Fried Green Tomatoes is an absolutely brilliant book and a very good film too.
