I didn't know P.S. I love you was based on a book. That's another one to add to my wish list.

I thought and it is only my opinion, that the film didnt do the book much justice. I thought is was an excellent read, and did make me cry.

l agree with you too.  The book in my opinion is so much better and l am glad l read the book before l watched the film.  l did enjoy the film but it isn't that true to the book, l did rather like the leading man in it ... swoons at the thought of the sexy Gerard Butler.

I agree with you as well. I loved the book and thought the film was rubbish.

Just finished Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo, and that made me cry.

My Sister's Keeper, Marley and Me and anything by Mitch Albom guaranteed to have me sobbing

I don't normally cry at books, but finished a book on friday that did:

'Ten Things I Learned From Bill Porter' by Shelly Brady. It's about a man with cerebral palsy and how he became the top door-to-door salesman for an American company. He doesn't accept that he has obstacles in his life, he just gets on with his job. Bill and Shelly do motivational speaking conferences.

It was the letters at the back of the book from people who had heard him talk and how motivated they were from what he said that set me off.

I normally read science fiction, fantasy/urban fiction or crime thrillers so there's not a lot of weeping potential in my usual genre :q34:

But I have read 2 books that made me cry...I sobbed a lot of the way thru 'Anybody Out There?' by Marian Keyes, and towards the end of 'The Pact' by Jodi Picoult

Just Finished: Killing the Beasts - Chris Simms

Call The Midwife had me in floods and floods of tears, so much so that I can't bring myself to read Shadows of the Workhouse at all, even though it has been on my TBR for over a year.

    Spoiler:

When it describes the old lady's descent into the workhouse and the death of her children, particularly the little boy who cries for his mother every day until he dies. My son was about that age when I read it and I could barely breathe I was sobbing so hard.

The last book I cried at was Marley and Me although I did have a bit of a moment towards the end of Eclipse the other night.

I cried last week at The Time Traveler's Wife, and earlier this year I had a weep when reading My Sister's Keeper - my OH just laughs at me - he can't understand how I can get so absorbed in a book!

recently read 'While My Sister Sleeps' by Barabra Delinsky. I was sat on the balcony of the apartment we were in on hols sobbing!!  Think it was a story close to my heart as my sister died suddenly 4 years ago so it struck a chord. As did My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult which I bawled through!
