Play.com have Acheron for £7.99 or they did anyway and I think that you can pre order the mass market paperback thats out in December for about a fiver. I noticed it after I bought my copy. you must read it, it actually lived up to my expectations. So not swapping my copy.

I still bitterly regret that I swapped fantasy lover what was I thinking that book was great.

I have a Kinley McGregor on swaps btw if anyone is interested. Knights of Avalon doesn't live up to her dark hunters but is ok.

I like the sound of them but there are just so many of them so that's put me off a little bit.  Are they worth reading?  I'm working my way through the Darkyn series by Lynn Viehl and just love them and can't wait for the third Ilona Andrews book - but they're a more manageable amount of books to read!

There's even a Dream Warior out due in the new year.  A dream hunter/dark hunter book.  I'm not sure if I'll read that one though.  I've never read Fantasy Lover and have just ordered it.

Thanks for the recommendations - I'm sure I'll cave in and go and buy the first one at some point.  I did actually buy one in Bargain Books tonight - Dark Side of the Moon - as it was only £1 and they had a couple of other ones too so now I've bought one of the more recent I'll just have to get the new ones!  Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

    Re: Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters

Dark Side of the Moon was the first book I read.  I think it's 12th in the series.  I came accross it in my local library.  I had no idea there was so many books.  That would have put me off if I'd known.

Well I'm going to buy the first one in the series (any excuse for buying another book - not that I ever need much persuading!) and then see how I like it.  If I don't I can always put Dark Side of the Moon for swap on here.

Do they have to be read in order or can you just read them randomly?  I have to say though I've a bit of a thing for reading a series in order!  Even if the stories are reasonably stand alone, it just bugs me!!  It's a bit weird I knowBig Smile

Its not weird, I am exactly the same and have to read everything in order. Fantasy Lover is a stand alone book but on Sherrilyn's website its also states it as the start of the series. Because even tho the main story isnt about a dark-hunter, a few of them are introduced in the book ready for the rest of the series. I am up to Seize the Night in the series and have loved all of the books so far.
