Just wondering if any of the security settings for the adverts on the site have changed, this could link with Lisa's thread about McAfee.

You could be onto something theer Debbie-think Mrs Mac and I both use Kapersky security, so it could be something to do with that. Very coincidental otherwise!

Dare I say it, but I think what you see depends on your set up and your pop-up blocker. I get some ads but the other day got chucked out as my security hadn't tested the site but that listed was the name of an ad site, then when I tried a bit later had no problems.

And yes Anne, the google ads do seem to be linked to the thread title, but sometimes inapproriately. I once saw an ad for haemarroid treatment on a thread about TBR "piles"!!!

    :q34:

and I must say that I don't have any...adverts that is!!  Feel like I'm missing something now (not..)

I've had adverts for as long as there have been adverts - hardly notice them now except when there's an odd juxtaposition. Must say I missed the piles one!

:q5: I'll never think about TBR in the same way again... Do love it when they try to match and go wrong - will be keeping my eye out for any funny ones now!

Speaking of which, I notice the top book ad on this page is for "Speaking to Strangers".  Well you couldn't get stranger than us lot, I guess... :q5:

I never look at the adverts really as they tend to blend in really

but I have noticed on occassion that they do match (sort of) what we are discussing. Very clever really!!!!

Did not notice the piles cream though.  I suppose it could only happen on Risi!!!

    Re: Call me old fashioned....

I think it has now appeared with this thread simply because the cream is mentioned in one of the posts above.

I'm now typing the word  BOOKCASE to see if it changes to the one with the bookshelves with the Harry Potter books on.
