i've requested two caravans now of three people all have said no to the swap.....

 can you request the same book off all those that have it at the same time (and then the system cancels the other swaps if your successful) or do you have to do it on a one request at a time basis?

You certainly can put in more than one request for the same book at the same time, but the system won't automatically cancel other outstanding requests if one gets accepted.  So unless you are checking back very frequently, there is a risk that you might get more than one request accepted and end up with more than one copy of the book.  Of course, if you desperately want the book you might consider that a risk worth taking, as you can always swap the extra copy on, but otherwise, I'm afraid you'll have to stick to making just one request at a time.

Unfortunately the system doesn't cancel other swaps for the same book, as I know from experience. I ended up with 2 copies of the same book once!

I've been doing multiple requests for No Time for Goodbye cos I keep getting rejected so I figure, laws of averages means that one of them needs to accept me soon!!

I currently have about 3 outstanding, but my top was 5!!  I check on here at least once a day, but more often it's several times, so unlikely that I will get 2 acceptances before I can cancel, although saying that, sods law is probably as powerful as the law of averages, so you never know!  If I do get more than one though it won't be too bad as it's so popular I am sure I will have no problems swapping the spare!!
