The poll for the next book is now running.

Those of you who may not be around on the evening of 4 Aug or not finished the book by then - don't worry, the thread will remain on the forum for you to catch up with later, you can add to it at any time.

Definitely agree with the 'Marmite' comment, though for me it's one of my favourite books. If you enjoyed it, I recommend McGregor's So Many Ways to Begin. A very different story (well, there could only be one Remarkable Things, couldn't there?) but the same lyrical style, and another books that stays in the mind for ages. Some books you pick up and read the blurb and think "Have I read this before?" and by page eight or ten you're realising you have, but it was so uninspiring that you still can't remember much of it. Not so with Mcgregor... love it or hate it, it's not something you forget. Looking forward to the discussion!

I loved this book and the style of writing so will look out for the other book. I too am on night shift tomorrow night unfortunately with no computer access so I hope to follow the thread later!
