Hi! I've read quite a few Jodie Picoults and enjoy them usually although I don't think I would want to read one after another as I think I'd find them a bit samey and I like to chop and change styles of book a bit.
But over the summer I tried to read Tenth Circle and I'm afraid I had to give up - because of the subject matter. I knew it was about an alleged rape of a 14 year old and could cope with that and I'm not a prude by any means but was uncomfortable with the portrayal of 14 year olds participating in near orgies. Under age sex, yes, can readily accept this but the protrayal of what was going on at the party made me feel yuck! I think I was partly influenced by the fact that I was reading it on a holiday with my 12 1/2 year old daughter who often asks me what I'm reading and what it's about....
It sounds like I'm in the minority though!
I may come across like a real prude but honestly I'm not!
