    The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck - quite a good story, although lots of descriptive passages in places

    • The Tenderness of Wolves - Stef Penney - on my TBR, I'm planning to read this one in Kefalonia next month
    • Random Acts of Heroic Love - Danny Scheinmann - This was OK, I found the first half very slow but it got better
    • Second Chance - Jane Green - on my TBR
    • Cat and Mouse - James Patterson - read this when it was first published, enjoyed it then
    • Extreme- My Autobiography - Sharon Osbourne - it was OK but a bit over the top

    • Nighteen Eighty-Four - George Orwell - a classic, I read it in my teens and would like to re-read it
    • 253 - Geoff Ryman - didnt really enjoy this
    • Labyrinth - Kate Mosse - loved this one
    • To kill a mockingbird - Harper Lee - wonderful, one of my favourite books now

    • The Tenderness of Wolves - Stef Penney Really absorbing read, loved it (not sure it's the right book for Kefalonia though Anne!)

    • A prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving Been meaning to read this for ages, but something else always takes priority...!
    • Nighteen Eighty-Four - George Orwell Read many years ago but made an enormous impression
    • Labyrinth - Kate Mosse Loved it - Cathars not something I knew about before, 2 parallel stories well told (don't let the size put you off...)
    • To kill a mockingbird - Harper Lee Still haven't read this, and slightly ashamed of myself...
    • Footprints in the sand - Sarah Challis Excellent nonsense, well written superior tosh... (loved it)
    • Losing you - Nicci French Does she ever write a bad one? But not her best...
    • The Kiss - Danielle Steel If you like her (and I sometimes do...) this is a good one - up with some of her earlier ones
    • Love & Dr Devon - Alan Titchmarsh Haven't read this one, but like how he writes...
    • Killing me softly - Nicci French Now this IS one of her best...
    • Lucky - Alice Sebold Brilliant book, but quite upsetting read...
    • The house at Riverton - Kate Morton Good read, but a bit too long I thought..
    • Chocolate Girls - Annie Murray A light read, but quite enjoyed it - read for a bookclub + wouldn't have thought of reading it otherwise

    Thanks for taking the time to reply with your comments regarding my list.

    I haven't read any Jodi Picoult before so I think that perhaps I will leave Vanishing Act for now and start off with one of her others.

    From what you have all said so far I think I will move Lucky by Alice Sebold and To kill a mockingbird up near the top of my list.

    • Losing you - Nicci French Was ok, not one of their best
    • Killing me softly - Nicci French Excellent book, loved this
    • Mary, Mary - James Patterson Not as good as the other Alex Cross books
    • Cross - James Patterson On my TBR
    • Pop goes the weasel - James Patterson Really good
    • Four blind mice - James Patterson Good book
    • Violets are blue - James Patterson Excellent, one of the best in the series 
    • Little Face - Sophie Hannah  Very good and very twisty Smile
