    inactive books after a swap?

Can someone tell me..... does the 8 weeks still rule?

Can I activate books as I read them?   What Happens if I haven't read a book in the 8 week time?

I actually didn't know there was an 8 weeks rule.

Personally, I always delete the books from the list when I receive them because I know it is unlikely I will read them straight away and also, I may well pass them onto others so they never get swapped again.  If I do decide to re-swap a book I prefer to list it from scratch, that way I can be sure the description is accurate.

This is news to me too!  I always delete swaps from my inactive list and re-list when I want to swap again to make sure the book is listed accurately.

Oh, must have misread the instructions before joining!

Very happy to follow your rule!

Delete the book until I decide to add to my swaps.

    Again. I thank you both

I never delete mine and haven't done so for 2 years now so don't worry about it. Big Smile  I'm intrigued by this 8 week rule though, Mandy and I are just too nosy!!

    Sorry!

This was a rule by a different web page.

I thought that it also applied here

    But it does not!

    No you probably havent.

The rule was.... when you swopped a book it remained inactive for 8 weeks....then it was made active irrespectively.

I saw that on one of the sites....And ASSUMED  that it was applicable here.

    Fortuantly it is not!

I'm glad this rule isn't active here. There areplanty of books it takes me more than 8 weeks to get around to reading! And what about the keeps? It seems to be a silly rule to me. :q25:

Can you imagine an 8 week rule on here with the size of some peoples TBR.  :q27:

Yes, it stands for "to be read." There's a section on the forum where people can post their TBR lists to keep track of them and to hear other people's opinions of them.
