    Advice needed

I posted a book off in good condition but it seems it didn't reach its destination the same way.  I don't know what happened but now my perfect ratings have been spoiled as the recipient marked me down.  What can I do?

Personally I would the send swapper a polite and friendly email explaining that the book was in good condition when you posted it and ask whether there was any evidence that the package was damaged.  If you are feeling generous you could ask if they would like to choose a "free book" from you list as compensation (but that is totally up to you and you are not required to do this).

In any event, if they don't up your ratings, you just need to get a few more good swaps done and the low star rating will sink and not affect your overall score.

Let us know how you get on.

    Welcome to the forum!

Yes I agree with Windysisters. It could be someone at the PO tampered with the parcel to see what was in it or damaged it in some other way. Looking at your profile You've got lots of positive feedback, so don't let it put you off swapping. E-mail the swapper & offer to compensate them in some way-maybe! Worth a try. Good LUck.

Hi hun, I recently sent off a book in good condition and my recipient didn't agree and gave me 3 stars. Since doing a few more swaps my rating has gone back up to 5 stars so try not to worry too much, people shouldn't be put off swapping with you.

Jess having looked at Lyndsay's profile I think it's the same person - it happened to me too (also the same)but I put mine down to it having been one of the first books I had ever listed and I only used the categories so just apologised.  You are right it does soon go back up especially if you are doing plenty of swaps.

Edit to add:  It won't put me off swapping with you, in fact I have just seen you have a book on my wishlist so I am going to put in a request for that with you.

Thanks for the welcome!  It's nice to "hear" a friendly voice, I was feeling pretty down about this site earlier.  Unfortunately I've tried the friendly email and got no reply so I guess I will just have to swap some more to prove myself.

Thanks Lyndsay I've tried to get a mix, although I have got to admit I got some from my sister and brother-in-law so they helped a little.  I do pick ones up from the library or charity shops very occasionally, although not very often from the charity shops as there aren't many charity shops round where I live, although there is one near where I work it is an Oxfam book shop and they are rather expensive on book in comparison to some.
