This is a massive list you've got here! How long do you reckon it'll take you to read all of these?
"The wedding day"- Catherine Alliot This is quite a fun read. I used to have a copy of it, but during a clear out I gave it to my mum. I've also read "A Married Man" and "Olivia's Luck." I love the latter.
"All Inclusive"- Judy Astley This is my least favourite of her novels, but still very amusing. I think "Size Matters" is my favourite Astley.
"Hitched"- Zoe Barnes I haven't read this one, but I enjoyed "Split Ends" and "Be My Baby." She's also a great chick-lit writer.
"Boy meets girl"- Meg Cabot Gah, I used to have a stack of her novels, but gave them to a charity shop about a year back. I've just realised that they would have been prime swapping material! Anyway, quite fun reads but not as good as a lot of other chick-lit writers. I find that the email-format means you miss out on a lot of details that you would have in a narrative novel.
"A Quiet Belief in Angels"- R J Elory This book looks really good! I'm planning on borrowing it from the library once I've read all the to-be-read books I have at home.
"Restoring Grace"- Katie Fforde I haven't read this one, but again, she's a good chick-lit writer. I really enjoyed "The Rose Revived."
"Pastures Nouveaux"- Wendy Holden Another good chick-lit writer! I've only read "The Wives of Bath," but this one also looked quite fun. I think maybe my mum read it. A few years ago we used to read really similar books, and then swap them.
"Love in the Present Tense"- Catherine Ryan Hyde I loved this book! It's one of the few adult books I've read and instantly thought "I need to get a copy of this!" It was quite emotinal in some places, but I really enjoyed it.
"Hurting Distance"- Sophie Hannah Another book I want to read.
"The secret life of Bees"- Sue Monk Kidd I need to read this book. My mum leant me it over a year ago, and I never really got into it. However, I think it may be useful for my English dissertation so I'm going to make a start on it soon.
"Marshmallows for Breakfast"- Dorothy Koomson This one looked really interesting.
"To Kill a Mockingbird"- Harper Lee A must read for everyone. I read this in fourth year (Scottish school system) English and loved it. I need to invest in a copy of this book as well.
"Being Commited"- Anna Maxted Earlier this year I found a list of books on my computer, of what I'd borrowed from the library in 2005. This was the only one I couldn't remember anything about, and even though I've read reviews of it, I don't remember anything! Hopefully it will stick in your mind longer than it did in mine!
"The one you really want"- Jill Mansell My mum really enjoys her books, but I'm not sure if I've read any. I recognise her name, though, so maybe I have.
"A whiff of Scandal"- Carole Matthews This one was really amusing! Another good chick-lit author.
"The House at Riverton"-Kate Morton Another interesting looking book.
"Marrying for Money"- Chris Manby If this one is anything like "The Matchbreaker" then it will be really amusing.
"Cage of stars"- Jacquelyn Mitchard I read "A Theory of Relativity" earlier this year and found some of the characters really irritating, but a lot of her novels - including this one - look really interesting, so I'm going to give her work another go.
"Chloe"- Freya North I remember reading something by her and finding it really hard to get into. The plot seemed really ridiculous, and moved at an unbelievable pace. But still, maybe her other novels aren't like that.
"Acting Up"-Melissa Nathan I read "The Waitress" and really enjoyed it. I was also given "The Learning Curve" one year as a present and found it a fun read, although I'm putting it up for swaps as I've not read it in over a year. Her novels are quite long, but if it's anything like "The Waitress" then it'll probably be worth it.
"I dont know how she does it"- Allison Pearson I own this book and really like it. It's not an amazing piece of fiction, but a really enjoyable and amusing read.
"The lost art of keeping secrets"- Eva Rice I started reading this once and found the writing a bit choppy. It was quite interesting, though, but I didn't really get into it.
"Lucia, Lucia"-Adriana Trigiani My librarian recommended this to me when I mentioned I was considering writing my dissertation on the theme of "racism" in literature. Although I'm specifically focusing on America, slavery and the US civil war for my racism theme, I'm still going to read this book. It looks interesting.
"Knowledge of Angels"- Jill Paton Walsh Wow, I have one of her books! It's a really old children's book set during WWII. I had no idea she wrote adult novels. If her writing is at all similar to that in "Fireweed," then it'll be a great read. I reread that novel so many times as a child.
"The making of Minty Malone"-Isabel Wolff I read "A Question of Love" a few years ago and really liked it. It was an emotional read, but she's another good author.
