Hi everyone,

This will be of interest to anyone not in UK who has been dying to have this facility! It´s a European tribute to readitswapit, inspired by one and the same!

It´s been started by someone who spends time in Spain and finds the lack of access to a wide range of English books frustrating.

If someone from readitswapit admin would like to contact me with a view to making it part of, or an extension of, readitswapit, please feel free. I´ve been badgering readitswapit for a European facility and have now finally started it myself, having been inspired by readitswapit and how wonderful a facility it is.

The Europea bookswaps are available at yahoo groups for the time being at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bookswapseurope although of course it would be wonderful if it was part of the wonderfully slick readitswapit forum software.. but who knows..

So if you are in Spain or Europe, or have friends who are, get your booklists ready and post them on the new bookswapseurope yahoogroup! In fact if you´re already a member of readitswapit and you want to swap with people in Europe, you can even go to your booklist on readitswap it and do a right click, 'select all, copy, and paste into an email to the yahoo group of your whole book list on readitswapit to save you typing up all the book titles all over again.

Bookmooch does it with a credit points system though, not a book for a book.. which I don´t think is as good as the RISI method of choosing a book you like and swapping it for a book you don´t want.. and just paying one lot of postage each time..

Anyway any real fans of RISI who spend time in Spain or Europe can use the new yahoogroup method for the time being.. as it´s just been set up ;0)

Just go to the link I published in the previous post and enjoy ... all you people especially in Spain but also throughout Europe, who can´t wait to get their hands on some more books in English!! :0)

This is a tremdous idea, and I hope it's going well. Am having a book orientated day (nothing new there then), so must make time to check it out and see if it's feasible to list there too.

It will help some of our members here too, won't it? Am aware that we have Sarita, and nannyp, who must find swapping quite difficult at times!

Thanks for pointing this out to me Elaine.  When I had to re register upon integration, I had to promise Neil not to use the swap facilite on Risi.

It was the only way I was allowed to register, and I have had to use a UK address.

I'll definitely check out the site above.

Well it´s starting to get members now and is in the early stages. So get all your friends joining and it´ll be great! The more people that join the more it will snowball! None of us could be keener :0) People can also swap DVDs and Videos if they want, and just like ReadItSwapIt, nothing is obligatory, and it´s going to be great fun!

Just in the past couple of days a few people in France have joined.. because a friend of mine has a lot of French connections... (so have I - I´m half French, as well as being in Spain a lot!) so it´s France and Spain in the lead so far!

People need to get it together to post their booklists of books to swap though! Joining, by itself, isn´t enough.. So come on in! :0)

I'm here... although not sure what you want on your list so I'm not good to you really!!  I can't remember what I wanted to borrow, maybe you should send me your list first!

Hmm, I had better do that.  I've joined...so I'd better stop playing Scrabble and sitting on my bum, and go up and see what I have to swap!!

Well, that was fun......and meant I had to stop cleaning

I will join as it may be a way of getting some French and/or Spanish books, if people are willing to post to UK, do you think they might sometimes? Or if I was willing to wait until they are visiting the UK, I imagine many of you ex-pats come over here on occasion.
