Re: sparkymarky's progress report....the sparkymarky challenge(may contain spoilers, such as there are any)

okay,so in order to get this read this week i worked out i need to read 100 pages a day-hence yesterday i read 100 pages and no more.

may i say the characters are vacuous, the plot so far very non-existant(even bagshawe doesn't seem certain which direction she wants to take it) and absolutely nothing much is happening-is it a book about the fashion industry or a book about Sophie's husbands mysterious disappearance which might well have been just him getting bored of her since she is hardly the most stimulating of people. The bumpf on back of book comments on bagshawes use of sexual characters-well not so far;Sophie is about as sexy as a bag of spuds so far and her husbands mistress Judy is so bland he must have slept with her just cos she has big glands or something cos as a person shes just a bittter non-entity.

oh goody roll on the next 100 pages tonight, can't wait....sighIck!

Oh poor sparkles... the book I mean!

You've done well to read 100 pages, and a week isn't too much time out of your life to read a present a good RiSi friend gave you... just think how it will look on your swap list once you've read it! :q29:

I really think you'd get more enjoyment from eating the book than reading it, having indigestion as got to be better than being in a coma!!  :q27::q30:

Re: sparkymarky's progress report....the sparkymarky challenge(may contain spoilers, such as there are any)

would anyone laugh if i said a small (and i mean miniscule really) part of me is actually enjoying this....? I am only kinda skim reading it because to read every word of this drivel would drive me insane but it is kind of ooookkkkaaayyyy in a very very trashy footballers wives kind of way-not that i've ever watched that but have read critics reviews of the programme and sounds very modern day prisoner cell block h (digging myself in deeper here aren't i?)

Sophie is soo obviously frigid-so much so that when she opens her legs,a light comes on......her assisstant JUDY is just a *** but the kind that doesn't really seem to get any sex either-so not a very good *** then...lol

if we had some hot, heavy sex action, this would make the book so much more readable;as it is the book is just soo vacuous-i have decided its not just the characters, the whole plot is like this too....thing is-it is a pretty easy read provided you don't absorb every word and u can do this because the plot, such as it is, is sooo easy to follow and there are pages where nothing much happens apart from Sophie's son acting even more like a spoilt little ***!!

hitting page 251 so just under half way and feel like i need to finsh this now just to prove something to myself-glad i'm off though as would never be able to sit through this dire crud if i was at work this week.....gggaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh!!

thasts better, got that off my chest now.....

the plot thickens.....well actually no it doesn't-thats part of the trouble pmsl
