Yes, instead of printing you save the label (as a pdf file, I think), and then email that file to the other user.  As I mention above, the only problem with this is the short time-frame you have in which to use the label, so make sure the other person knows to expect your email, but otherwise it works well.

 I have seen this done already on some swappers pages that books are listed as free for the price of postage.If they are regular forum users they are familiar with this idea already and would respond to pm's (personal mesages) more readily than non forum users.

If you list books free for postage they are sent out via the PO & Royal Mail.  Treez gave a very good explanation of how this works at the start of this thread.  lf that is what you were wanting to know rather than about the online postage that Penny thought you wante to know about.

People list books and others ask for them.  You then need to find out cost of posting the book and let the other person know either by posting on your thread or by PM.  Most people wait for stamps, postage label or Paypal payment prior to posting the offered book off.

Something I would like to see is an option to apply feedback for the free books as well as the swapped books, this will allow people to say when there have been problems with this system. I am not sure how this would be fitted into the system as it works but it would help weed out people who abuse this service.

That would be impossible to do as the Free Books facility is only through the Forums and not through the Main Site - therefore any free books are really nothing to do with swaps.

That is what I suspected but thanks for confirming that.

Also when I try to pay postage through the post office online system sometimes I can save the pdf and sometimes I can't, any idea why this is sometimes a problem? Am I being silly and keep using the wrong part of the website?

 I've never used the Royal Mail site but often use Paypal Postage through Ebay and find this really easy.

Are we allowed to use paypal to collect the payment and use the postage from there??  I know there are fees involved - but only small for the amount we are talking about.

You would have to agree it with the individual member beforehand.  Some members will probably be quite happy to accept payment by Paypal, but I know others wouldn't.  Also, I think it would only be fair if the person sending the payment also paid the Paypal fees, not the person sending the free book.

If you want to offer your entire booklist for free, the best way is just to paste in the link to your list (not the link to your My Books page, though - view it as you would another member's list and put that url in).

Help. Maybe I'm dense but I can't find the link to the free books (to either add any or select any). Have decided to add a note to my booklist but would still like to view other people's lists.
