I thought maybe we should have a thread which helps people add their avatar to the forums, so here goes.

If you click on your name in the top right hand corner, where it says 'Signed in as' it will take you to your profile.  There you will find 6 tabs, the third one is for your avatar so click on that.

First you will need to enable your avatar, so click on the 'Yes' button.  If you have a picture on your PC then you can upload it using the next option which says 'Upload Avatar' - you click browse, find the picture and then click open, then you need to click update.

If you have a picture saved on www.photobucket.com then you need to copy the link which starts 'http://' (URL Link) and paste it into the Avatar URL box.  Sometimes if your picture is too big the system will tell you and you'll need to reduce the size.

Don't forget to click 'Save Changes'!

So for example the link to my avatar is - http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p140/MissMuppet_01/235546jpgpe7.gif - that's what you need to paste into the small box next to Avatar URL.

If you need any help then let me know, I have permission to go into your profiles and edit things so can easily sort out the avatar if you're having problems.

My avatar is meant to be moving but it's not have I done something wrong?

Why wont mine do it? The picture is on my computer, so i click on browse, then double click the picture, then upload, but it always says its an invalid url, and blog. and i click on save changes but nothing happens, its driving me mad!!!

Rebecca, I've enabled avatar for you on your set up.  Have another go - let me know what happens.

Photobucket is a great source - you can get moving ones like mine there too

Yahoo! has an avatar creator and there's something else called a Zwinkie which a lot of people use, or try http://www.weeworld.com  I used the http://www.simpsonsmovie.com/main.html?cid=en one.

I love photobucket for my avatars and use the animated ones now that I've figured out how to upload........I love my dancing cat....!!
