    Question about pre-paid postage.

Ok, I'm not a new user but wasn't sure where else this enquiry should go.

I recently did my first swa for postage where I sent a perosn stamps in exchange for a book. Also today a parcel arrived for me where the sender had used Royal Mail on line pre pay postage labels and OH pointed this out and said 'Why not do this when swapping for postage?' I explained that we have no printer and he said isn't there a way you can email the postage label to the sender so they can print it off and send it to you thus saving you posting them stamps etc and saving them shelling out initially on postage?

I was wondering if nayone knewo if this was possible as I had a look on the RM website but it seems you have to log in and so forth and I don't know if you can email the labels to someone else to print or not. Any regualr users of this method able to help me?

Yes you can email your postage label to someone else to print and use.  I often do this for books for postage.  You have go through the buying procedure as normal and then when the printed label appears on screen, save it as a PDF, on your desktop screen for example, and then attach that to an email.  Of course they should post the book within the timescale printed on the postage label to avoid any possible problems with RM,

    Re: Question about pre-paid postage.

Those of us who send online postage labels in place of stamps HAVE to email the label to the sender, as the labels are only valid till the end of the next working day after they've been created, so would be out-of-date before they arrived if we sent them by snail mail! The online postage is very easy to use, though you do need a credit or debit card, and once you've created your label to yourself, it's simple to save and email it as Karen describes.

Thanks for the information ladies! I shall look into doing this next time I swap for postage.
